Holy crap, I am the mother of a 1-year-old!!! At 7:06 this evening we took a moment to remember how that same moment last year changed our lives forever and for the better. Our sweet Steven has added so much to our family! Adam and I are always talking to each other about how cute he is and how awesome it is to see all the new things he is doing. To celebrate, we had some family and friends over for cake. Yes, we gave Steven his very own. At first he just thought it was fun to mush the cake between his fingers, but then Adam fed him a bite of it and he realized how much more fun it was to eat it! He ate so much! He was pretty clean about it, though--at least, he didn't get a single crumb in his hair! Also, after the tray was gone, Steven decided he wanted just a little bit more of a taste of his cake, and he found just what he was looking for on his toe!
My friend Shelley helped me get Steven into a bath and shower him off after he was finished. By the way, lately he lets us know he is "all done" by throwing whatever is left on his tray onto the floor--yeah, that was fun! Adam had some fun with Steven's hair when he got out of the bath. Those long locks probably wont be there for much longer. :(
Here are some fun things that Steven has started doing lately:1. Yesterday he started saying "Mom" and "Mama."
2. Two days ago he graduated from walking with both of our hands to just one (it's way cute!).
3. He waves bye-bye, especially when it's time to go to bed.
4. He can sometimes give himself bites with his spoon and give himself his sippy cup water.
5. He loves the flowers that are blossoming on the trees outside. I taught him how to smell them--"Mmmmm, ahhhh." He doesn't make the noises, but he does hold his mouth open when he puts the flowers up to his nose--so cute!
6. He loves to kick balls around the house like he's dribbling in a soccer game.
7. He points to what he wants.
8. He has started to tease people and act like he's reaching for them, but then turn away and laugh at the last minute.
9. He can stack up three blocks at once.
10. He loves to give us loves and kisses, and we love it, too!!!
We love this little guy so much. Life goes so fast; I am so grateful that we all get to be together forever!!!

Teagan throws his food on the floor when he is done too...it drives me nuts! I've taught him the sign for all done, but he prefers throwing food.
He sounds SOO smart and so cute! Teagan still won't saw mom in any form, just dad. Happy birthday!
Lis, isn't it crazy once you reach the one year stage so quickly? Good thing you know you have another one on the way alread (at least I took comfort in that!). :) BTW, you look so cute in that picture (as do your boys).
I cannot believe your baby is 1!!! Time goes by so fast, and he has just gotten cuter! ;o) His hair is absolutely adorable... it's so light! Congrats on your baby being 1, and your next one on the way!
